WVUteach Club

WVUteach Club is a student-led organization whose activities help to promote the success of WVUteach pre-service teachers in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) at West Virginia University. WVUteach students are automatically members. 

Officers are elected at the end of each spring semester and as vacancies occur.

Emily Hummell
Emily Hunnel

Emily Hummell is currently serving as the Club President. She graduated from Charleroi High School in 2015. She is a freshman Biochemistry major in the WVUteach program. In high school, she was a member of the Technology Student Association, and is interested in giving back to the organization in any way possible. In the future, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in neuroscience and go into medical research. She looks forward to serving the club and learning new things along the way!


Darien Beall
 

 Darien Beall is currently serving as the Club Vice President.
Darien Beall is currently serving as the Club Vice President. She graduated from Wheeling Park High School in 2015, and is currently a sophomore biology major in the WVUteach program, with minors in music performance and psychology. During the summer, she enjoys working at her local zoo back home. She enjoyed marching band and running her astronomy club in high school. In the future, she wants to graduate with an emphasis in neuroscience, planning to attend medical school in order to be a physician. Additionally, she looks forward to attending all the fun outreach projects that the WVUteach club has to offer.

Olivia Fidler
 Olivia Fidler

Olivia Fidler is currently serving as Club Treasurer. Olivia graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 2015. She is a sophomore Mathematics major in the WVUteach program. She enjoys being a Red Cross Swim Instructor during the summers and was a competitive swimmer in high school. In the future, she plans to attend graduate school to study mathematics education and will eventually pursue a career in mathematics education. She looks forward to seeing the Club evolve and grow!

Courtney Boot
 

 Courtney Boot is currently serving as Club Secretary. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2015. She is a sophomore Chemistry major in the WVUteach program; she also have a Biology minor. In the future, she plans to pursue either a career in pharmaceutical research or go into medical school. In high school she was a member of her school's Key Club, a student organization that is based around community service. She looks forward to serving the Club and helping it and its members give back to the community.
